Abstract
The philosophy that undergirds Adventist Education is wholistic, and emphasizes the Head, the Heart and the Hands. It is whole-person education. There might have been a tendency to overemphasize the Head—intellect, cognition, academic rigor, mind and thinking. Sir Ken Robinson wisely quipped that academia is all about the mind, to the extent that we treat our bodies simply as vehicles to transport our brains from meeting to meeting or from classroom to classroom. This is not the Adventist way. In this plenary, Richard Rice will explore with us the Heart of what we do.
