    About

My interest and expertise lie in creating active learning experiences for students, increasing institutional capacity for evidence-based practice (EBP), and specializing in international faculty development.

Access to current, valid, evidence-based information is a goal, yet traditional models of information access place barriers for developing countries as well as developed countries due to cost and lack of globalization of nursing's knowledge.  Because of this, my research activities focus on using technology to enhance patient care, documenting nursing's progress in the Open Access movement to improve access to valid and reliable scientific information, and documenting knowledge and skills of Evidence-based practice (EBP) globally using an objective measurement that has been translated in to several languages.

The best way to reach me is by email at jnick@llu.edu -- I look forward to establishing a dialogue with you about my passions in nursing.
