Acquiring and generating knowledge energizes me. I love to research and share what I learn with others. My program of research explores spiritual responses to illness or impending death and how nurses can best support spiritual well-being. My teaching assignments allow me to mentor doctoral students as they research and write. Ultimately, I pursue my vocation because I want to ease suffering and promote well-being not only for those who are ill or facing death, but also for those who witness and support others living with a serious illness.
